Player Code of Conduct

  • At All times comply with the Member Protection Policy.
  • Take responsibility for your own behavior and performance.
  • Compete by the competition conditions and rules.
  • Never argue with the Referee’s decision.
  • Control your temper – no criticism by word or gesture.
  • Work equally hard for yourself and your team – your team’s performance will benefit and so will your own.
  • Be a good sport.
  • Encourage and support your own team members.
  • Show respect for yourself, your team mates, officials, your opponents and their skills.
  • Smoking, drinking of alcoholic beverages, use of any illegal substances and substance abuse is strictly forbidden.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow participants, coaches, officials and spectators.
  • Refrain from conduct which could be regarded as sexual or other harassment towards fellow participants and coaches.
  • Respect the talent, potential and development of fellow team members and competitors.
  • Care and respect the equipment provided to you as part of your program.
  • Be frank and honest with your coach concerning illness and injury and your ability to train fully within the program requirements.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner relating to language, temper and punctuality.
  • Maintain high personal behavior standards at all times.
  • Be honest in your attitude and preparation to training.
  • Work equally hard for yourself and your team.
  • Cooperate with coaches and staff in development of programs to adequately prepare you for competition at the highest level.
  • I agree and acknowledge that I have read and agree to all terms and conditions set out in the Anti-doping policy which I have endorsed personally and as a player and member of the Endeavour Volleyball club as set out in the Volleyball Australia policy document found HERE.

 

Consequences for breaches of this code by Players.

Team managers may deal immediately with any breaches of this code by imposing appropriate consequences, including not playing remaining fixtures, notification of parents, and being sent home at your parents’ or your own cost.

Volleyball Australia is responsible for imposing any longer term consequences.  Students and players will be afforded natural justice in respect of breaches of this code and for any discipline.
